Please allow me to briefly introduce myself to you. My name is Joby Stanaland and I live in Ocala, which is in North Central Florida. Most of my working years were spent as a Manufacturer's Representative in the automotive and heavy-duty truck parts industry.
My competition barbecue career began in 1998, cooking mostly in MIM events, with an occasional KCBS contest in the mix. My cooker was homemade from a 300 gallon fuel oil tank, but this created the fire and excitement that still burns inside of me today. In 2000, a group of folks in the Orlando area founded the Florida Barbecue Association and I was asked if I would head up this new sanctioning body. I accepted, and served as FBA president for six years, helping to build what I truly believe is one of the finest sanctioning organizations in the world of competition barbecue. My experience in insulated, continuous-feed smokers began in 2003, promoting and marketing Stump`s Smokers, until that company was sold in 2006. In 2007 I began my journey to develop what today is know as Superior Smokers. It took considerably longer than expected, but I am extremely pleased with our current product(s) and look forward to being of service to many of my old customers and those of you who have never done business with me.
